Jefferies: US equity ETF inflows jump to $27.8B on strong demand
Investing.com - US equity exchange-traded funds recorded inflows of $27.8 billion during the week ended August 19, up from $7.9 billion the previous week, according to Jefferies' weekly fund flow report. Overall retail inflows excluding money markets totaled $40.3 billion, compared with $23.5 billion the prior week.
ETFs attracted $49.6 billion in total inflows for the week, while mutual funds excluding money markets saw outflows of $9.3 billion. Taxable bond ETFs extended their inflow streak to 72 consecutive weeks. Money market funds posted outflows of $0.9 billion, reversing the prior week's inflows of $3.5 billion.
US equity mutual funds reported outflows of $7.6 billion, down from $8.5 billion in outflows the previous week. International equity ETFs recorded their 71st consecutive week of inflows with $5.6 billion, compared with $7.1 billion the prior week. International mutual funds had outflows of $2.2 billion.
Taxable bond mutual funds posted inflows of $0.5 billion, up from $0.3 billion the previous week. Taxable bond ETFs recorded inflows of $12.0 billion, compared with $12.9 billion the prior week. Municipal bond mutual funds saw outflows of $0.1 billion, reversing the previous week's inflows of $0.8 billion.
Municipal bond ETFs attracted inflows of $1.0 billion, an increase from $0.5 billion the previous week.
