Gamestop delays shareholder meeting following tech issue
Investing.com -- Gamestop delayed its annual shareholder meeting due Thursday by a day after its servers were overwhelmed by a flurry of shareholders trying to access the livestream.
"Unprecedented demand" from shareholders seeking to access the meeting led to a "technical issue" A spokesperson for Computershare, the company hosting the webcast, told the Associated Press Thursday afternoon.
The meeting initially slated to kick off at 11:00 ET, was postponed to Friday, Jun. 14, at 16:00 ET.
Shareholder interest in the stock surged in recent weeks after Keith Gill, also known as "Roaring Kitty" -- who sparked the initial memestock rally in January 2021 -- made a reappearance on social media and unveiled a five million stake in Gamestop, coaxing memestock traders out of a long slumber.
Gamestop was up more than 12% in recent trading.
