Exclusive: Tactical Resources secures financing to fast-track US rare earth supply
Investing.com -- Tactical Resources Corp. (TSX.V: RARE) has secured a US$140 million financing package to accelerate its push to become one of the United States’ few large-scale domestic suppliers of rare earth elements, Investing.com has learned.
According to sources, the company has entered into an agreement with Yorkville Advisors Global that includes US$40 million in convertible debt financing and a US$100 million standby equity purchase facility.
The deal is also expected to support Tactical’s planned merger with Plum Acquisition Corp. III, paving the way for the combined entity to list on Nasdaq later this year, people familiar with the matter told Investing.com.
In addition, it will help accelerate the company’s near-term project development and the potential commercial supply of domestic rare earth elements in the near future.
The financing is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Tactical’s Texas asset, a large inventory of rare earth-rich tailings from an operational mine, gives it a key advantage, providing immediate potential feedstock for processing and the ability to reduce the decade-long mine development cycles typical in the industry.
The company believes that compared to peers, it has clearer potential for a near-term path to supply rare earths to multiple industries critical to the U.S. economy.
Tactical is also exploring additional funding from strategic investors and term loan facilities secured by its Texas tailings inventory, giving the company flexibility to expand while minimizing shareholder dilution.
