Europeans to Hang Greeks Out to Dry

November 12, 2012 9:09 AM EST
Eurozone officials decided on Monday that they will not approve more money for Greece despite recent budget reforms in the country. This weekend, Greek passed an austerity budget for 2013 that met the conditions for the release of €31.5 billion in emergency loans, but a number of officials in Europe have stated that the money will not be released, according to reports out of Reuters this morning.

"The overall orientation that's emerging from the preparatory work is such that the next disbursement to Greece should be organized in the best possible way," Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker said.

According to Greek officials, Greece will not default on the €5 billion in redemption due on November 16 and will be able to roll over the bills.
