Nikola (NASDAQ: NKLA) revealed that a previously damaged truck had reignited at the company’s Phoenix, Arizona headquarters Sunday afternoon. There were no reported injuries.
“At approximately 2 pm today at Nikola HQ, one of the trucks that was previously damaged reignited. No one was injured and the fire was quickly contained," the company said.
The truck first caught fire on June 23rd. The fire affected several battery electric trucks located behind the headquarters. The EV maker suspected ‘foul play’ in the matter citing an unidentified vehicle in the premises around the time of the incident.
“The damaged trucks have remained at the company's HQ site for safety monitoring and the ongoing investigations.” The company added.
Shares of NKLA are down 7.6% in early trading Monday morning.
