NEW YORK (Reuters) -The dollar rose on Thursday after data showed retail sales rose more than expected in June, following a turbulent session on Wednesday when U.S. President Donald Trump denied reports that he is planning to fire Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.

NEW YORK (Reuters) -The U.S. dollar fell but rose off its lows on Wednesday after U.S. President Donald Trump denied news reports that he is planning to fire Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.
Bloomberg reported that the president is likely to fire Powell soon. A source also told Reuters that Trump is open to the idea of firing Powell and polled some Republican lawmakers on firing Powell and received a positive response.

NEW YORK (Reuters) -The dollar reached a 15-week high against the Japanese yen on Tuesday as U.S. consumer prices increased by the most in five months in June, while traders also pared expectations on how many times the Federal Reserve is likely to cut interest rates this year.

NEW YORK (Reuters) -The euro dipped on Monday and the dollar gained against a basket of currencies, as traders largely shrugged off new tariffs ahead of key U.S. inflation data on Tuesday.
