Celgene (CELG) Lower; Suit Filed Over Thalidomide Patent Infringement

Celgene (Nasdaq: CELG) shares are lower following news that the pharma has been sued over Thalidomide patent use.
Bloomberg reported today that Andrulis Pharmaceuticals filed the suit against Celgene. Andrulis is seeking a ruling in federal court in Delaware to halt infringement of U.S. Patent 6,140,346. Damages sought weren't specified.
Formerly used as a birth-control drug in the 1960s, Thalidomide is now indicated as a cancer treatment. Other uses include a treatment of multiple myeloma and complications stemming from leprosy.
Shares of Celgene are down 1.4 percent.
