Applied Energetics receives $250,000 contract from University of Rochester
Applied Energetics Inc. (OTCQB: AERG) received a follow-on contract worth approximately $250,000 from the University of Rochester's Laboratory for Laser Energetics to support a multi-phase advanced laser technology program, according to a company statement.
The contract is expected to begin in April 2026 and will focus on ongoing efforts to explore pulsed laser technologies. The work represents a continuation of previous research collaboration between the company and the laboratory.
The Laboratory for Laser Energetics, founded in 1970, conducts research in high-energy-density physics and studies how intense laser radiation interacts with matter. The facility operates the OMEGA and OMEGA EP laser systems.
Applied Energetics develops fiber-based ultrashort pulse laser technologies and photonics systems. The company holds 25 patents with three additional patents pending. The Tucson, Arizona-based company designs laser systems for potential defense applications and commercial markets.
