Chimera Investment completes $120 million senior notes offering

Chimera Investment Corporation (NYSE: CIM) completed its underwritten public offering of $120 million in senior notes due 2030, the real estate investment trust announced. The 8.875% senior notes include $5 million issued through an over-allotment option.
The notes received a BBB investment grade rating from Egan-Jones Ratings Company. Chimera has been authorized to list the notes on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "CIMP," with trading expected to begin September 18, 2025.
Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, RBC Capital Markets, LLC, UBS Investment Bank, Wells Fargo Securities, LLC, Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc., and Piper Sandler & Co. served as joint book-running managers for the offering.
The company offered the notes under its existing shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP served as legal advisor to Chimera, while Venable LLP acted as Maryland counsel. Ropes & Gray LLP provided legal advice to the joint book-running managers.
Chimera operates as a publicly traded REIT focused on providing returns through investments linked to mortgage credit fundamentals. The company invests in diversified portfolios of mortgage assets, including residential mortgage loans, non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities, agency RMBS, agency CMBS, mortgage servicing rights, and business purpose loans.
