U.S. private employers reduced payrolls by an average of 13,500 jobs per week during the four weeks ending November 8, 2025, according to ADP's (NASDAQ: ADP) NER Pulse report released November 25.
The data represents a preliminary estimate based on ADP's weekly employment tracking system, which provides updates to the monthly ADP National Employment Report. The figures are seasonally adjusted and published with a two-week lag.
ADP Research publishes these preliminary employment estimates three times monthly using a four-week moving average of week-over-week changes in U.S. employment. The company bases its calculations on what it describes as high-frequency payroll data.
The NER Pulse report is released every Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. ET, except during weeks when the full monthly ADP National Employment Report is published. ADP Research produces both reports in collaboration with the Stanford Digital Economy Lab.
The preliminary numbers could change as additional data becomes available, according to the company's statement. ADP maintains that the NER Pulse provides 12 weeks of historical employment data alongside current estimates.
ADP serves more than 1.1 million clients across 140 countries, providing human resources and payroll solutions. The company has operated for more than 75 years and uses its payroll processing data to generate employment statistics.
