Monster (MWW) Employment Index Shows Y/Y Increase of 10% in November

Nonfarm payrolls added 120,000 in November, which was below consensus views, but better than the revised 100,000 adds in October.
But job-seeking giant Monster Worldwide's (NYSE: MWW) Employment Index shows similar results.
According to data from Monster on Friday, its employment index fell from 151 in October to 147 for November. The number is a 10 percent increase from 134 recording the same period last year, down from 11 percent growth in October.
Monster reports that "agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting (up 39 percent) replaced Mining, Quarrying, Oil and Gas extraction (up 35 percent) as the top growth sector in November." Public Administration recorded the steepest decline from November 2010, at 21 percent to a reading of 149.

- Personal care and service (up 65 percent) recorded the highest growth in November;
- Computer and Mathematical (up 19 percent) saw continued demand for software engineers and network technicians; and
- Protective Service (down 29 percent) continued to record the weakest long-term trend among occupations.
