Walmart (WMT) Tops Q3 EPS by 16c, Comps increase 6.4%

Walmart (NYSE: WMT) reported Q3 EPS of $1.34, $0.16 better than the analyst estimate of $1.18. Revenue for the quarter came in at $134.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $132.23 million.

  • Walmart U.S. comp sales increased 6.4% with strength across key categories, including general merchandise, health & wellness and food.

  • Walmart U.S. eCommerce sales grew 79% with strong results across all channels and contributed approximately 570 basis points to comp sales.

“This was another strong quarter on the top and bottom line. Our associates continue to impress during this challenging year. They are working together to serve customers and communities in new, relevant ways and we’re very proud of them. We think these new customer behaviors will largely persist and we’re well positioned to serve customers with the value and experience they’re looking for,” said Doug McMillon President and CEO.
