Walgreen Co. (WAG) Reports Increase in November and Quarterly Sales

Walgreen Co. (NYSE: WAG) had November sales of $4,356,570,000, an increase of 16.2% from $3,750,490,000 for the same month in 2005. Sales in comparable stores rose 9.3%.
November pharmacy sales increased 18.2%, while comparable pharmacy sales increased 11.4%. Total prescriptions filled at comparable stores increased 7.0%. Pharmacy sales accounted for 64.5% of total sales for the month.
Fiscal year 2006 sales for the three months, and first quarter, were $12,710,626,000, up 16.6%from $10,900,398,000. Comparable store sales for the fiscal year to date increased 9.7%. Current quarterly revenue consensus is $12.48 billion.
