Kirkland's, Inc. (Nasdaq: KIRK) reports Q1 EPS of $0.12, ex-items, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.09) and compared to a loss of $0.13 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $83.3 million, versus the consensus of $79.36 million.
Same store sales rose 5.2%.
Sees FY09 sales moderatley below FY08 based on the smaller store base throughout the year. EPS for the year are expected to be moderately higher than '08 levels.
