KB Home (KBH) Bests Q2 Loss Views by 3c/Share; Revs Heavy

KB Home (NYSE: KBH) reported Q2 EPS of ($0.31), $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.34). Revenue for the quarter came in at $302.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $301.3 million.

Results include tax benefit of $4.5 billion.

The Company had a backlog of 2,962 homes, representing potential future housing revenues of $693.4 million, as of May 31, 2012, compared to a backlog of 2,422 homes, representing potential future housing revenues of $501.5 million, as of May 31, 2011.

Net orders rose to 2,049 in the second quarter of 2012, up 3% from 1,998 in the year-earlier quarter.
