Interactive Brokers (IBKR) Misses Q1 EPS by 5c

Interactive Brokers (NASDAQ: IBKR) reported Q1 EPS Ex-Items of $0.34, $0.05 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.39. Revenue for the quarter came in at $374 million versus the consensus estimate of $398.28 million.

"Market making segment income before income taxes decreased to a loss of $22 million in the quarter ended March 31, 2017, due to lower trading volumes and decreases in volatility and in the actual-to-implied volatility ratio."

Firm expects to phase out options market making activities in coming months.
