Fred's (FRED) Tops Q2 EPS by 2c

Fred's (NASDAQ: FRED) reported Q2 EPS of ($0.15), $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.17). Revenue for the quarter came in at $507.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $506.36 million.

Comparable store sales for the second quarter declined 0.3% versus a decrease of 2.0% in the second quarter last year.
