Fred's (FRED) Misses Q3 EPS by 3c; Guides Q4 EPS Below Consensus

Fred's (NASDAQ: FRED) reported Q3 EPS of ($0.16), $0.03 worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.13). Revenue for the quarter came in at $476.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $476.2 million.

On a comparable store basis, third quarter sales increased 0.3% on top of an increase of 1.4% for the year-earlier period.

Fred's sees Q4 2014 EPS of $-0.00-$0.04, versus the consensus of $0.06.
