Family Dollar Stores (FDO) Misses Q3 EPS by 8c

Family Dollar Stores (NYSE: FDO) reported Q3 EPS of $0.74, $0.08 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.82. Revenue for the quarter came in at $2.73 billion versus the consensus estimate of $2.73 billion.

Comparable store sales for the 13-week period increased 0.7% as a result of an increase in the number of customer transactions, which was partially offset by a decrease in the average customer transaction value.
