Contango Oil & Gas (MCF) Misses Q3 EPS Views

Contango Oil & Gas (NYSE: MCF) reported Q3 EPS of ($9.79), which may not compare with the analyst estimate of ($0.83). Revenue for the quarter came in at $29 million versus the consensus estimate of $32.78 million.

Impacting our earnings this quarter was a $235.1 million pre-tax, non-cash impairment mandated by U.S. GAAP as a result of the impact of the decline in commodity prices on the value of the Company’s reserve base.
