500.com Ltd (WBAI) Tops Q2 EPS by 20c

500.com Ltd (NYSE: WBAI) reported Q2 EPS of $0.37, $0.20 better than the analyst estimate of $0.17. Revenue for the quarter came in at $25.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $18.61 million.

Total purchase amount was RMB2,093.2 million (US$337.4 million), representing a 98.4% increase from the first quarter of 2014 and a 199.1% increase from the second quarter of 2013.

Number of active users was approximately 2,530,000 during the second quarter of 2014, representing a 121.2% increase from the first quarter of 2014.

For the third quarter of 2014, the Company expects the total purchase amount to be between RMB2,200 million (US$354.6 million) and RMB2,300 million (US$370.8 million), representing a sequential increase of 5.1% - 9.9% and a year-over-year increase of 214.3% - 228.6%. These estimates reflect the Company's current and preliminary view, which is subject to possible material changes.
