U.S. Poised to Remove Steel, Aluminum Tariffs on Canada, Mexico - Bloomberg

The U.S. is set to lift steel and aluminum tariffs on Canada and Mexico in favor of stronger enforcement actions, according to Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter. The move helps clear the way for USMCA ratification.
The effective date for removing the tariffs is the outstanding question, the report said.
Lighthizer briefed lawmakers on Capital Hill about the announcement of an imminent deal, the person said.
