Traders Take Positions Ahead of China/Emerging Market Data
Traders will be focused on activity in China and the emerging markets this week. The most important data point to look forward to is PPI and CPI data out of China, which will come out on Friday. China will also announce industrial production numbers and retail sales figures.
In the Americas, Brazil inflation should show a pick up on Tuesday, as the country abandons recent efforts to control inflation, opting instead for a policy that will focus on a weaker currency.
A couple of ETFs worth watching are the MSCI Emerging Markets Index Fund (NYSE: EEM), which tracks the performance of emerging market stocks, and FTSE China 25 Index Fund Profile (NYSE: FXI), which tracks the performance of the largest companies in the China equity market.
