Financial Stocks Underperform Broader Market (XLF)

The Financial sector is under-performing the market as a whole today. ETF Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLF) is down 2.75%, versus the 1.8% slide in the S&P 500.

This can be related to fears about intensifying housing and loan issues with recent negative economic data.

Around the sector: Bank of America Corporation (NYSE: BAC) is down 3.7%, Citgorup (NYSE: C) is down 2.6%, JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) is down 2.9%, Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) is down 4.5%.
