William Blair Upgrades Amazon (AMZN), Downgrades Wal-Mart (WMT), Target (TGT)

An analyst at William Blair revised investment ratings on several retailers Thursday morning:

• upgraded Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) from Market Perform to Outperform
  
• downgraded Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT) from Outperform to Market Perform
  
• downgraded Target (NYSE: TGT) from Outperform to Market Perform

In pre-market action, Amazon shares are up 1.7 percent to $168.09 while shares of both Wal-Mart and Target are about flat.
