JPMorgan analyst Joseph Giordano downgraded Auna SA (NYSE: AUNA) from Overweight to Neutral with a price target of $6.00 (from $13.50).
The analyst comments: "As we revisit our model for Auna, the slower than expected ramp-up of the Mexican operations is a key source of downward revision to expectations as it represents 25-30% of top line and EBITDA and was expected to contribute 33% by ‘26E (now 28%) in terms of top line. Meanwhile, as the company re-profiled its debt, it announced it was looking for partners – for a potential equity injection to unlock higher capex to accelerate growth in the country. Besides, given investment limitations, Auna is changing its mostly vertically integrated model for cancer care in Mexico to operate with third-party providers to roll out its Onco Mexico initiative – cancer plan in the mold of Oncosalud in Peru. All in, despite the lower debt burden after the recent liability management initiative, we lower ‘25E/’26E EPS by -30%/-20%."
