Goldman Sachs downgraded Becton Dickinson (NYSE: BDX) from Buy to Neutral with a price target of $87 (down from $102).

The firm said they are moving to the sidelines given the extent to which upside in FY2012 will be predicated on a rebound in US utilization, improved academic funding, and abatement of pricing pressure in Europe. "We had previously viewed BDX as relatively insulated from macro factors, but this is proving not to be the case," the analyst said.

Goldman now sees limited upside to FY2012 outlook.
