Adams Express Co. (ADX) Declares $0.50 Special Dividend; 5% Yield

Adams Express Co. (NYSE: ADX) declared a special dividend of $0.50 per share, or $0.5 annualized.

The dividend will be payable on December 27, 2011, to stockholders of record on November 21, 2011, with an ex-dividend date of November 17, 2011.

The annual yield on the dividend is 5 percent.

The dividend consists of:

• a capital gains distribution of $0.48 per share from net capital gains realized during 2011, comprised of $0.06 short-term and $0.42 long-term capital gain; and
  
  
• an income dividend of $0.02 per share from 2011 net investment income.
