Vertical Aerospace (NYSE: EVTL) announced financing commitments totaling approximately $100 million from existing and new investors to support the certification and commercialization of its Valo eVTOL aircraft, according to a company statement.
The financing comprises three components. Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., the company's largest shareholder, is providing $40 million through a recently closed $5 million draw and a planned $35 million accelerated draw under an existing $50 million convertible note facility, expected by Aug. 12, 2026. This portion remains subject to the negotiation and execution of definitive agreements. A group of existing and new investors is contributing $35 million through an underwritten equity offering of units priced at $1.05 each, with each unit consisting of one ordinary share and one warrant. The offering is expected to close on or about Aug. 11, 2026. Yorkville Advisors Global, L.P. is providing $25 million through the company's preferred equity facility, which settled on the date of the announcement.
The company said proceeds are intended to fund several program priorities, including completing a Critical Design Review, expanding its Energy Centre to triple battery production capacity, developing production facilities in the UK, and retrofitting a third prototype aircraft for hybrid-electric flight testing in the first half of 2027.
The financing follows Vertical's participation in the Farnborough International Airshow, where the company conducted five demonstration flights over five days, including what it described as the first public piloted eVTOL transition flights at the event.
Vertical also disclosed it is in advanced discussions with the UK Government for up to £10 million ($13.5 million) in support for production facilities, has entered a partnership with Near Earth Autonomy for autonomous flight systems, and has joined VERTI-GO, a Honeywell Aerospace-led European initiative focused on eVTOL airspace integration.
Chief Executive Stuart Simpson said the financings reflect confidence in the company's position and provide "near-term flexibility to execute the next phase of our plan."
Vertical said it will provide updated cash and liquidity guidance alongside its half-year results on Aug. 13, 2026.
