Varonis Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: VRNS) announced the release of its Next-Gen Database Activity Monitoring solution, according to a company press release. The new offering is integrated into the company's existing Data Security Platform.
The solution includes activity monitoring capabilities that capture database queries both in cloud and on-premises environments. It provides user and entity behavior analytics designed to detect suspicious activity and data exfiltration attempts. The system also features data discovery and classification functions to identify sensitive information within databases.
Additional components include database access control that connects database permissions to corporate identities and automated remediation capabilities for revoking permissions and enforcing security policies.
"Legacy DAM solutions like Imperva and IBM Guardium use outdated, agent-based technology that takes years to deploy and require hardware and multiple FTEs to operate," said Terry Ray, Varonis VP of Product Strategy and former Imperva CTO.
The Next-Gen DAM capabilities support major databases including Databricks, Microsoft SQL Server, Amazon RDS, Postgres, Oracle, and Snowflake. The solution is available as part of the Varonis Data Security Platform.
Varonis provides data security services to organizations across SaaS, IaaS, and hybrid cloud environments. The company's platform offers various security functions including data security posture management, data classification, and identity protection.
