TransUnion and Bankrate expand credit offer partnership

TransUnion (NYSE: TRU) announced an expansion of its partnership with Bankrate, combining Bankrate's lender marketplace with TransUnion's credit data and its Monevo offers platform to deliver personalized credit offers to consumers.

The capability is now live in TransUnion Credit Essentials, a free credit app launched in May 2025. Millions of consumers have registered for the platform since launch, with membership growing approximately 50% over the past year, according to the company.

The integration uses Bankrate's lender network and auction technology alongside Monevo's decisioning engine, which draws on credit data, alternative data, and consumer intent signals to match consumers with credit offers across products including credit cards, personal loans, mortgages, home equity, auto refinance, insurance, and savings accounts.

"Consumers have many credit choices and not enough clarity," said Steve Chaouki, President of U.S. Markets at TransUnion. "By combining TransUnion's data with our Monevo offers platform and Bankrate's lender partnerships, we've built a capability that makes offers more precise."

TransUnion's Q3 2026 Consumer Pulse study found that 53% of Americans check their credit report at least monthly, and 93% consider credit report monitoring important. One in 10 consumers who check their credit report do so to identify credit offers they may qualify for.

Partners can embed the capability through a technical integration, allowing personalized offers to be distributed across publisher and affiliate sites, co-branded experiences, and AI-driven channels. TransUnion and Bankrate said they plan to extend the offering beyond Credit Essentials to additional platforms and product types.

"Bankrate and TransUnion have helped consumers make smarter financial decisions for years," said Matt Fellowes, CEO of Bankrate. "TransUnion's data and identity insights, combined with Bankrate's lender relationships, auctions and marketplace, help consumers find the right products with confidence."
