Telomir Pharmaceuticals reports preclinical cancer findings

Telomir Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: TELO) announced preclinical study results showing its investigational compound Telomir-1 affects DNA methylation of tumor suppressor genes in prostate cancer models.

The studies demonstrated that Telomir-1 resets abnormal DNA methylation to restore function of two tumor suppressor genes, MASPIN and RASSF1A, which are frequently silenced in cancer.

According to the company's findings, MASPIN functions as a defense protein that blocks tumor invasion, regulates cell migration and angiogenesis, promotes apoptosis, and enhances treatment sensitivity. In the prostate cancer model, MASPIN was silenced by DNA hypermethylation. Telomir-1 reversed the chemotherapy-induced DNA methylation to restore MASPIN activity.

RASSF1A serves as a regulator of cell cycle brakes, apoptosis, and suppression of metastasis. The compound reduced RASSF1A methylation in a dose-dependent manner, with stronger effects when combined with chemotherapy, according to the study results.

The company stated these results suggest Telomir-1 may reactivate natural tumor defenses and counteract chemotherapy-induced resistance mechanisms.

Telomir Pharmaceuticals is continuing preclinical development of Telomir-1 and advancing the program with IND-enabling studies. The findings were announced on October 6, 2025, based on the company's press release.
