Stratasys reports Subaru cuts tooling development time by 50% with new 3D printer head

January 15, 2026 8:15 AM EST

Stratasys Ltd. (NASDAQ: SSYS) announced that Subaru of America has reduced tooling development time by more than 50% using the company's new T25 High Speed Head for the F770 3D printer.

Subaru's engineering teams implemented the new print head for automotive tooling development and achieved several operational improvements. The automaker reduced overall prototyping and tooling costs by 70% and increased printing speed by 1.96 times for a 36-inch tool compared to the standard head offering.

"Being able to get the enhanced throughput with the F770 has made for a more reliable and robust operation," said Matt Daroff, Project Engineering Manager at Subaru of America. "Getting parts to our internal customers earlier gives them an opportunity to identify things we may not have caught in development."

The T25 High Speed Head delivers print speeds up to 2.3 times faster on large-format parts while maintaining part quality, according to Stratasys. The technology is designed for industrial production environments to support automotive tooling, prototyping, and production applications.

Subaru consolidated production onto the Stratasys F770 platform to improve repeatability and part quality while enabling faster turnaround for tooling requests. The approach reduced the company's reliance on outsourced manufacturing and long lead times.

The T25 High Speed Head is now available for purchase. Information about the announcement was provided in a company press release.
