Stratasys Ltd. (NASDAQ: SSYS) and Limbitless Solutions, a nonprofit at the University of Central Florida, have announced an expansion of their 12-year collaboration focused on delivering 3D-printed prosthetic devices to children with limb differences.
According to a press release, the partnership has helped deliver hundreds of prosthetic devices to children across the United States since 2014. The expanded collaboration includes a renewed focus on sustainability, education, and broadening access to prosthetics.
As part of the expanded agreement, Stratasys donated a refurbished F370 3D printer through its Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program to support Limbitless operations, student education, and community outreach. The CPO program reconditions used equipment through a factory-certified process before redeployment.
Limbitless operates a dedicated lab at the University of Central Florida equipped with multiple Stratasys systems, where students use 3D printing technology to produce prosthetic components, molds for cosmetic elements, and rapid prototypes.
"Stratasys has been with us since day one," said Albert Manero, PhD, Executive Director and Co-founder of Limbitless Solutions. "What started as a short phone call while I was in graduate school turned into a decade-long partnership that shows how additive manufacturing can create a tangible impact for the children we serve."
Rosa Coblens, VP of Sustainability and Communications at Stratasys, said the partnership reflects the company's approach to combining sustainability with social impact. "By reconditioning high-performing equipment through our Certified Pre-Owned program, we not only reduce waste but also enable purpose-driven organizations like Limbitless to extend their reach," she said.
Stratasys has supported Limbitless through donations of materials, equipment, and engineering expertise over the course of the collaboration.
