Smith-Midland wins $2.7M Virginia transportation contracts
Smith-Midland Corporation (NASDAQ: SMID) received three Virginia transportation infrastructure contracts totaling more than $2.7 million for precast concrete sound wall systems.
The projects involve manufacturing and delivering over 100,000 linear feet of sound wall systems, panels, posts, and retaining walls for roadway improvements across Virginia, according to a company statement.
Smith-Midland will work with Shirley Contracting on two projects: the Devlin Road project in Prince William County and the Fairfax County Parkway project in Fairfax County. The Fairfax County Parkway replacement wall will be taller than the existing structure.
The company also partnered with Kokosing Construction Company to provide sound wall panels for the Virginia Department of Transportation Route 164 project in Portsmouth. This project will integrate new wall panels with existing posts.
Production will take place at Smith-Midland's Midland, Virginia plant later this year and into early 2027.
"These projects reflect the growing need for infrastructure solutions that balance performance, durability, and community impact," said Matthew Smith, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Smith-Midland Corporation.
Smith-Midland develops, manufactures, licenses, rents, and sells precast concrete products primarily for construction, transportation, and utility industries. The company operates three manufacturing facilities in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
