SEALSQ Corp (NASDAQ: LAES) announced the development of QASIC, a quantum-resistant application-specific integrated circuit, through its recently acquired French ASIC design house IC'Alps.
The Geneva-based semiconductor company outlined a three-phase roadmap beginning with commercialization of what it describes as the first post-quantum cryptography standard chip. The mid-term phase involves developing custom integrated circuit solutions and the QASIC technology, while the long-term phase focuses on secure system solutions for next-generation architectures.
The QASIC initiative targets post-quantum hardware security modules and secure microcontrollers for critical infrastructure, defense systems, IoT devices, and artificial intelligence applications. SEALSQ expects the first prototype from this integrated roadmap in 2026.
"With IC'Alps, SEALSQ now bridges the entire secure semiconductor spectrum," said Carlos Moreira, CEO of SEALSQ. "This integration accelerates our roadmap toward quantum-resistant systems, combining catalog products, custom designs, and security IP under one roof."
IC'Alps brings expertise in analog, digital, and mixed-signal custom intellectual property and ASIC design. The company maintains partnerships with foundries including TSMC, GlobalFoundries, STMicroelectronics, Intel Foundry, X-FAB, and ams-OSRAM. IC'Alps holds certifications including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, EN 9100, and Common Criteria.
The integration connects SEALSQ's engineering hubs across Switzerland, France, Spain, the UAE, Korea, and the United States. The combined offering includes catalog integrated circuits, custom integrated circuits, and security intellectual property targeting quantum-resistant semiconductor solutions.
SEALSQ focuses on post-quantum technology hardware and software solutions, developing semiconductors designed to address security challenges posed by advancing quantum computing capabilities.
