Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc. (NYSE: RYAM) announced the introduction of an enhanced freezer application for its Kallima folding carton board, designed for frozen food packaging applications.

The product was developed at RYAM's Temiscaming facility and is engineered to withstand temperatures as low as -18°C (0°F) while maintaining structural integrity and resisting delamination in freezer conditions, according to the company statement.

The enhanced folding carton board provides moisture resistance without requiring additional coatings or plastic extrusion treatments. The product is intended for use in packaging frozen meals, protein trays and other frozen food applications.

"Our Enhanced Freezer Application is a direct response to customer needs," said Ken Duffy, Senior Vice President, Paperboard and High Yield Pulp. "It empowers converters with a freezer-ready solution that performs reliably while remaining easy to convert—helping brands stay competitive without adding production complexity."

The board features a print surface designed for graphics applications and is manufactured from certified forest fiber. RYAM positions the product as eliminating the need for additional converting treatments while providing performance in high-humidity freezer environments.

RYAM operates manufacturing facilities in the United States, Canada and France, and reported $1.6 billion in revenue for 2024. The company produces cellulose specialties, fluff pulp, biofuels and paper and packaging products.
