Phio Pharmaceuticals Corp. (NASDAQ: PHIO) announced that its INTASYL compound PH-762 received the 2025 Immunomodulatory Solution of the Year award from the BioTech Breakthrough Awards program.
The BioTech Breakthrough Awards program is conducted by BioTech Breakthrough, a market intelligence organization that evaluates life sciences and biotechnology companies globally. This marks the fifth annual awards program.
"I'm honored that our INTASYL PH-762 has been awarded 'Immunomodulatory Solution of the Year' from the BioTech Breakthrough Awards Program," said Robert Bitterman, CEO and Chairman of Phio Pharmaceuticals.
Bryan Vaughn, Managing Director of BioTech Breakthrough, stated that "PH-762 specifically fulfills a medical need for a non-surgical treatment option for patients with cutaneous carcinomas."
PH-762 is designed to silence the PD-1 gene implicated in various forms of skin cancer. The compound is currently being evaluated in an ongoing Phase 1b trial for the treatment of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, and Merkel cell carcinoma.
Phio Pharmaceuticals is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing therapeutics using its proprietary INTASYL siRNA gene silencing technology. The company's INTASYL compounds are designed to enhance immune cells to target cancer cells more effectively.
