Persistent Systems and Kong form partnership for AI production deployment
Persistent Systems (BSE: 533179, NSE: PERSISTENT) and Kong announced a strategic partnership to help enterprises implement AI systems in production environments. The collaboration combines Persistent's engineering services with Kong's API and AI connectivity platform.
The partnership addresses challenges enterprises face when scaling AI from experimental phases to production deployment. According to the companies, the focus shifts from model access to governing and operating AI systems at scale across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Under the agreement, Persistent will serve as Kong's global systems integration partner. The companies plan to enable organizations to modernize legacy API environments and implement governance controls for AI and data services.
The collaboration includes support for generative AI and agentic workflows with security features such as personally identifiable information protection, centralized access management, and end-to-end observability capabilities.
"Enterprise AI will not be defined by who has access to models. It will be defined by how effectively organizations can govern how intelligence flows across their systems," said Anand Krishnan, Executive Vice President at Persistent.
Ken Kim, Senior Vice President and Head of Business Development at Kong, stated that APIs are critical for connecting services, data, and model endpoints across complex environments.
The partnership integrates Kong's AI Gateway with Persistent's GenAI Hub and engineering services. Persistent Systems operates in 21 countries with over 27,500 employees and provides digital engineering and enterprise modernization services.
Kong develops API and AI connectivity technologies and serves Fortune 500 companies and AI-focused startups. The company's platform enables organizations to manage traffic across APIs and AI workloads on multiple models and cloud platforms.
