Paycom launches IWant AI engine for employee data access

July 30, 2025 9:15 AM EDT

Paycom Software Inc. (NYSE: PAYC) announced the launch of IWant, an AI-powered search engine that allows users to access employee information through voice or text commands within the company's human resources software platform.

The command-driven system enables employees, managers and HR personnel to retrieve data from Paycom's database by asking questions in natural language. Users can access information about time-off balances, payroll details, schedules, benefits and other employee data without navigating through traditional software menus.

IWant is available through Paycom's mobile app and desktop platform. The system draws responses from the company's single database, which Paycom says reduces data inconsistencies that can occur when multiple systems are integrated.

"IWant is the biggest release since our founding in 1998," said Chad Richison, Paycom founder and CEO. "Command-driven automation marks the beginning of the future of all software. Navigation, information gathering and asking others for information will soon become obsolete."

For employees, the system provides answers about personal HR data including 401(k) contributions, tax withholdings and pay history. HR teams and executives can use IWant to access workforce information such as coverage thresholds, training completion status, salary data and performance reviews.

The Oklahoma City-based company piloted the technology with clients before the general release. One executive from the distribution industry said the system eliminated the need to rely on others for employee data access.

Paycom provides cloud-based human capital management software and has operated for over 25 years. The company serves businesses in the United States and internationally through its single-database HR and payroll platform.
