PROCEPT BioRobotics (NASDAQ: PRCT) announced the international launch of its HYDROS Robotic System, beginning with the United Kingdom. The company plans additional international expansion in 2026.
The HYDROS system delivers Aquablation therapy for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The platform uses AI-interpreted ultrasound imaging and robotic-assisted treatment planning to enable surgeons to perform anatomy-specific procedures.
"The HYDROS Robotic System expands international access to a clinically validated, next-generation AI-enabled robotic solution that delivers durable symptom relief while preserving quality of life," said Larry Wood, President and CEO of PROCEPT BioRobotics.
Aquablation therapy uses ultrasound-guided, heat-free waterjet technology to remove prostate tissue. The system provides real-time imaging that allows surgeons to create treatment plans tailored to individual patient anatomy while preserving areas that control erectile and ejaculatory function.
Neil Barber, Consultant Urological Surgeon, stated that the system "brings AI-enabled, real-time ultrasound-guidance and robotic assisted treatment planning to NICE-recommended Aquablation therapy in the UK, supporting precise, anatomy-specific treatment."
PROCEPT BioRobotics focuses on surgical robotics solutions in urology. The company reports that BPH affects approximately 40 million men in the United States. According to the company, it has developed clinical evidence supporting Aquablation therapy through approximately 250 peer-reviewed publications.
The information is based on a company press release statement.
