OpenTable launched its updated loyalty program, OpenTable Regulars, on October 27, offering diners new redemption options and enhanced status benefits. The program remains free to all users of the restaurant reservation platform.
Under the revamped program, diners earn 100 points per completed reservation made directly through OpenTable, with select bookings offering up to 1,000 points. In select global markets, points can be redeemed for prepaid dining experiences including set menus, wine tastings, and dinner shows. U.S. users can apply points toward their restaurant bills, while customers in the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, and Germany can exchange points for Amazon gift cards.
OpenTable introduced Gold status, a new loyalty tier requiring six reservations within 12 months. Gold members receive priority access to last-minute restaurant availability notifications and six months of free Uber One membership in select markets including the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, Mexico, Germany, and Ireland. The Uber One benefit excludes current subscribers.
"Restaurants depend on loyal, high-value guests, and our enhanced loyalty program is designed to deliver just that," said Robin Chiang, Chief Growth Officer at OpenTable. "This program is a big win for diners, too, who will benefit from even more ways to redeem points and get access to perks from OpenTable's network of restaurants and strategic partners."
Existing VIP status holders will have the opportunity to join the Gold tier. The program includes a new loyalty hub accessible online and through the mobile app for tracking points and accessing benefits.
OpenTable, part of Booking Holdings (NASDAQ: BKNG), serves more than 60,000 restaurants worldwide and facilitates 1.9 billion annual reservations, according to the company statement.
