Mylan Inc. (Nasdaq: MYL) announced that its subsidiary Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. has launched Desloratadine Tablets, 5 mg, the generic version of Schering-Plough's Clarinex allergy medication. Mylan previously received final approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Desloratadine Tablets, 5 mg, and is shipping this product immediately.
Desloratadine Tablets, 5 mg, had U.S. sales of approximately $194.6 million for the 12 months ending March 31, 2012, according to IMS Health.
