McEwen Inc. (NYSE: MUX) appointed Ian Ball as vice-chairman, creating a new executive position to support the company's strategic growth initiatives.

Ball previously served as an independent director of McEwen since 2022. From 2014 to 2021, he was president and chief executive of Abitibi Royalties Inc., where the company achieved a 74% compound annual growth rate in share price. He also served as president of McEwen Mining, the company's former name, overseeing mining operations and exploration programs.

In his new role, Ball will focus on medium- to long-term growth strategies, supporting the company's goal to double production by 2030, advancing exploration plans and evaluating capital allocation opportunities.

"Ian brings a rare combination of operational experience and capital markets acumen. His track record speaks for itself, and we're excited to have him help shape McEwen's next chapter of growth," said Rob McEwen, chairman and chief owner.

McEwen operates three mines in the United States, Canada and Argentina, along with an advanced-stage copper development project in Argentina. The company also has a gold and silver mine on care and maintenance in Mexico.

The information is based on a press release statement from the company.
