Kimbell Royalty closes $221.2M mineral rights acquisition

Kimbell Royalty Partners, LP (NYSE: KRP) closed a $221.2 million acquisition of mineral and royalty interests from affiliated sellers on Aug. 21, 2026, according to a company statement.
The transaction was structured as a combination of $74.9 million in cash, representing approximately 34% of total consideration, and 9.5 million common units of Kimbell Royalty Operating, LLC valued at approximately $146.3 million, based on a closing unit price of $15.40.
The acquired portfolio spans over 3 million gross acres with more than 29,000 gross producing wells across the Eagle Ford, Permian, Mid-Con, and Appalachia regions. As of the June 1, 2026 effective date, the assets produce approximately 2,347 barrels of oil equivalent per day, consisting of 841 barrels per day of oil, 569 barrels per day of natural gas liquids, and 5,624 thousand cubic feet per day of natural gas.
Kimbell is entitled to cash flow from production attributable to the acquisition since June 1, 2026, though revenues under generally accepted accounting principles will be recorded beginning on the Aug. 21, 2026 closing date.
Fort Worth, Texas-based Kimbell holds mineral and royalty interests in over 17 million gross acres across 28 states and more than 137,000 gross wells.
