K-Tech and Aurora begin construction on 5 MW computing facility
K-Tech Solutions Company Limited (NASDAQ: KMRK) and Aurora AZ Energy Ltd. announced construction has begun on a 5 MW computing infrastructure facility in Alberta, Canada. The project represents the initial phase of a joint venture targeting up to 500 MW of IT capacity.
The companies stated that onsite technical testing has commenced to validate the integration of Aurora's wellhead-sourced power infrastructure with K-Tech's high-density computing systems. The 5 MW build-out serves as an operational proof-of-concept for a planned 100 MW deployment.
The testing phase aims to optimize power efficiency, ensure environmental compliance, and verify cost-efficiencies of utilizing natural gas resources directly at the wellhead before scaling to larger data center environments.
K-Tech Solutions, primarily a toy manufacturer specializing in infant and pre-school educational products, has been operating since 2016 and trades on the NASDAQ. The company serves customers mainly in European and North American markets.
Aurora AZ Energy Ltd., incorporated in Canada in 2023, is a Calgary-based energy infrastructure company that develops systems converting natural gas resources into electricity for high-density computing applications, including artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.
The information was disclosed in a joint press release from both companies.
