IAMGOLD Corporation (NYSE: IAG) announced it completed the acquisition of all outstanding common shares of Mines D'Or Orbec Inc. (TSXV: BLUE) (OTC Pink: BLTMF) through a plan of arrangement. The Ontario Superior Court of Justice granted final approval for the transaction on December 18, 2025.
The acquisition adds the Muus Project to IAMGOLD's newly formed Nelligan Mining Complex in Quebec's Chibougamau-Chapais region. According to the company, the combined assets now represent one of the largest pre-production gold projects in Canada.
"The acquisition of Orbec and the Muus Project provides additional potential in our IAMGOLD's newly formed Nelligan Mining Complex," said Renaud Adams, President and Chief Executive Officer of IAMGOLD. The executive noted the project covers the intersection of two mineralized structures, including the Fancamp Deformation Zone and the Guercheville Deformation Zone.
IAMGOLD operates mines in North America and West Africa, including Côté Gold in Canada, Westwood in Canada, and Essakane in Burkina Faso. The Côté Gold Mine achieved full nameplate production in June 2025. The company operates Côté Gold in partnership with Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd.
The company employs approximately 3,700 people and maintains a portfolio of exploration projects in addition to its operating mines. IAMGOLD trades on the New York Stock Exchange and Toronto Stock Exchange.
