Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) is shuttering it's webOS division, and the fun has just begun.
According to AllThingsD Tuesday morning, Hewlett-Packard is expecting to lay off about 525 employees this week as the closing process begins. A source has contacted Hewlett-Packard, which said layoffs were underway but did not attach a number.
AllThingsD also got a statement from an Hewlett-Packard spokesperson, reading in-part: "During this time, we stand by our commitment to our webOS customers and will work to ensure that support and service for customers are not adversely affected. HP is exploring ways to leverage webOS software."
