Graphic Packaging Holding Company (NYSE: GPK) announced that Robbert Rietbroek will become president and chief executive officer effective January 1, 2026, succeeding Michael P. Doss, who will step down December 31, 2025.
Rietbroek brings more than 25 years of global leadership experience in consumer products companies. He most recently served as CEO and director of Primo Brands Corporation, a publicly traded North American bottled water company. Prior to that role, he led Primo Water Corporation and oversaw its merger with BlueTriton Brands to form Primo Brands in November 2024.
Earlier in his career, Rietbroek held senior positions at PepsiCo, including senior vice president and general manager of Quaker Foods North America and PepsiCo Australia and New Zealand. He also worked in leadership roles at Kimberly-Clark and spent 15 years at Procter & Gamble in various strategic and brand development positions across Europe, South America, and the United States.
Doss has served as Graphic Packaging's president and CEO since 2016 and has worked at the company for 35 years. Philip R. Martens, chairman of the board, said the transition comes as the company completes its Vision 2025 transformation and positions itself for Vision 2030 goals.
"Leading the talented Graphic Packaging team over the past decade has been a privilege and the highlight of my career," Doss said in a statement. "I believe that this is the right time for this transition."
The Atlanta-based company designs and produces consumer packaging made primarily from renewable or recycled materials. The company also provided updated full-year 2025 guidance and reaffirmed confidence in its 2026 free cash flow targets in a separate announcement.
Rietbroek holds a master's degree from Maastricht University in the Netherlands and has three packaging design patents. He has served on boards including the Consumer Brands Association and World Business Chicago.
