NCR Atleos Corporation (NYSE: NATL) announced that Global Credit Union is deploying Atleos ATMs at a newly established branch in Utqiaġvik, Alaska, described as the northernmost city in the United States.
The branch is intended to provide financial services to residents and businesses in Alaska's North Slope region. The ATMs will offer cash access and self-service transactions alongside in-branch and digital services.
"The opening of our Utqiaġvik branch represents an important step in expanding access to financial services on Alaska's North Slope," said Erica Kemp, Vice President of Branch Administration at Global Credit Union. "Working with NCR Atleos allows us to offer ATM access to more Alaskans while maintaining the level of security, availability and service our members expect."
The deployment involves logistical and environmental challenges associated with operating hundreds of miles from traditional service hubs in extreme weather conditions.
Atlanta-based Atleos employs approximately 20,000 people globally, according to the company's press release.
